September Has the Blues, in the Best Way!!

September’s birthstone is sapphire, and it gives me a the best excuse to talk about one of my favorite gemstones.

Most people immediately picture that deep, unmistakable blue when they hear sapphire. And for good reason. That rich blue combined with gold make a statement without being overly formal.

These sapphire drop earrings are a perfect example. They feature a bezel-set blue sapphire, accented by a delicate gold chain that drapes beneath the ear and connects to the earring back, creating a beautiful floating loop.

I love the movement of a drop earring, especially when you add the depth of blue you get from sapphire. They catch the light differently as you move, so the color never feels completely still.

And while sapphire is the September birthstone, you definitely don’t need a September birthday to wear it 😉.

Birthstones can make a wonderful starting point when you’re choosing jewelry for yourself or someone else, but I’ve never believed you need a reason to wear a gemstone you love.

Sometimes you choose a stone because it represents something. Or, sometimes you choose it because the color is incredible.

Both are perfectly good reasons.
